Help shape our Collective Future with a tax-deductible contribution to Explore Mars, Inc., and help us to make our goal of putting Humans on Mars by 2033 a reality

Explore Mars, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, brings aerospace business leaders together with government entities, mediating and facilitating the direct flow of information. We run the biggest conference in the world focused on sending humans to Mars; educate policymakers through our grassroots outreach efforts; and are extremely effective in promoting collaboration and partnerships throughout the space community. Our annual Humans to Mars Report on the state of Mars is the most direct, concise statement on where the world stands vis a vis Humans on Mars.

We are a passionate group, working relentlessly, but we cannot do it alone – we need your support. Join us to enable humans to walk on the surface of Mars within the next two decades, and know that your donation will have an impact far beyond the monetary value of what you give.

Humans thrive when they explore. Indeed, our greatest heroes are explorers. Out of exploration, many incredible discoveries have provided great benefits to our society improving life on Earth and making our lives richer. It is now almost 50 years after the first Moon landing, yet the Apollo space program continues to shape our world today. Similarly, humans on Mars will positively affect everyone on our planet in ways that we cannot possibly imagine.

The Challenge: To keep NASA, industry and policymakers focused on the goal of landing of humans on the surface of Mars by 2033. Explore Mars has played a significant role in helping to shape the road to Mars. Over the next 16 years, our mission will be to ensure that our elected officials, NASA, industry, and our international partners remain firmly on this path.

Explore Mars, Inc., the Testimonials:

“The Humans to Mars Summit 2017, along with the subsequent industry and government meetings that came of it, made this year’s conference one of the most effective trips to Washington that I have executed in the last 5 years.” Grant Anderson, President and CEO, Paragon Space Development Corporation

“The H2M Summit is an amazing STEM/STEAM infused conference. From the latest in Virtual Reality that will make living on Mars less lonely, to the technology that is advancing a human outpost on the Red Planet, to speeches and conversations with the top scientists, engineers, artists and sci-fi writers, biologists and space industries that are making MARS not just a future hope, but our future reality, H2M brings the best and brightest together to create an interactive experience with STEM. The future is here, STEM is here, and it’s fully present at the H2M Summit!” Janet Ivey, Janet’s Planet

“I have attended this Summit since its inception and as I told you, and many others at this event; the H2M Summit keeps getting better every year… this was no exception!  Both the number and level of attendees has increased significantly and this is also true of the panel speakers.  This, along with other improvements you have made, has given this forum much greater credibility and it is arguably the foremost Mars Summit for the industry.” Garry White, Rear Admiral (Ret.), USN; Vice Chairman, Busek

“Throughout its existence, the Explore Mars organization has been tireless in its efforts to support the development of broad policy consensus on US space exploration policy, especially with respect to Mars exploration.” Jeff Bingham, U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, Professional Staff (retired)

“We are on Mars today with our intrepid robotic explorers.  Explore Mars brings together a diverse group of space leaders, academics, and enthusiasts with the shared goal of exploring Mars with both humans and robots–soon.” John M. Grunsfeld, Astronaut and Scientist

“… efforts (by Explore Mars) have been indispensable to the US space policy process and have succeeded in establishing clarity and understanding among legislative and executive branch policy-makers regarding the focus for future exploration of Mars.” Jeff Bingham, U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, Professional Staff (retired)

Programs and Outreach:

Humans to Mars Summit (https://H2M.ExploreMars.org): H2M has become, by far, the biggest and most influential annual conference in the world focused on sending humans to the surface of Mars. H2M has become the CENTER of the Humans to Mars cause each year.

Mars Achievability and Sustainability Workshops: Since 2013, we have brought together stakeholders in the space industry on an annual basis to work to build consensus on Mars missions that are achievable and sustainable. This has led to closing in on a single Humans to Mars mission architecture.  (https://www.exploremars.org/affording-mars)

STEAM Programs: Explore Mars has promoted STEAM education programs including Teaching Mars Workshops, Mars Education Challenge, and strong STEAM partnerships.

Public Outreach: Outreach is a primary focus for us, through our programs, printed opinion pieces, news and media interviews, speaking engagements, and many other approaches.

Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality and Space Exploration Workshop: Explore Mars has launched a working group of VR/AR experts, space professionals, and others to brainstorm the opportunities and challenges of utilizing VR/AR in mission operations, science, and public engagement.

Coming In 2018:

International Workshops and Conferences: Explore Mars is launching a series of international workshops, conferences, and partnerships that build international support and collaboration for human missions to Mars.

Policy:

Congressional Briefings: Two times a year, Explore Mars produces well-attended formal panels on Capitol Hill to brief members of Congress and their staff on topics that are critical to getting humans to Mars.

Capitol Hill Visits and Distribution:: Explore Mars organizes and runs the annual “Space Exploration Alliance Legislative Blitz“, a grassroots “visit to Congress” by non-profit space advocacy organizations, in which over 150 congressional offices are visited each year. Explore Mars also arranges smaller Hill visits at other times during the year. Explore Mars also hand-delivers our materials (including The Humans to Mars Report) to every Congressional office annually.

Relationship Building: Explore Mars is continually building relationships with policy makers in Washington, DC and beyond to advance the Humans to Mars goal.

Testimony/Impact: Explore Mars has presented both oral and written testimony to Congress and was cited by name in the NASA Transition Authorization Act of 2017.

Partnerships:

Perhaps the greatest strength of Explore Mars is our ability to build strong coalitions and cross-sector partnerships. Since our founding in 2010, we have brought together space industry, academia, space agencies, policy makers, the entertainment industry, and many others beyond the space community to build critical mass.

New in 2017:

One Way Trip to Mars rock opera: Because Explore Mars believes it is extremely important to support cultural activities related to Mars exploration, Explore Mars partnered on the world premiere of a full-staged production of the rock opera, One Way Trip to Mars, during the summer of 2017.
